From the Editor of the English-language Version
Dear friends and colleagues,

The Fundamental Digital Library of Russian Literature and Folklore is pleased to announce the launching of its English-language version. Here you will find the same renowned FEB-web Digital Scholarly Editions, but with an English-language interface, searchable bibliographical annotations in transliteration, and descriptions, news, editorial policy, guest book, and other materials in English.

Why an English-language version?
The FEB-web English-language version is designed to bring our scholarly editions and reference materials to an international audience of students and scholars. The English-language interface will help users with rudimentary Russian-language skills find the texts and information they need. And the English-language versions of our editorial materials make the FEB-web model of humanities computing available to computer scientists, digital librarians, and other specialists worldwide. In time, English-language FEB-web will also offer quality English translations of the Russian classics, as well as classic works of English-language scholarship on Russian verbal art.

What's inside?
There are currently two digital scholarly editions available with the English-language interface: The FEB-web Digital Scholarly Edition of A.S.Pushkin and The FEB-web Digital Scholarly Edition of A.S.Griboedov. We plan to make our other digital scholarly editions available in the English-language version by the end of the year.

FEB-web welcomes your comments, suggestions, and questions, especially during the initial phases of this project. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Joseph Peschio, Editor
